What is your internal standard for Professionalism?

Recently, I buried myself in facilitating heaps of workshops for businesses.
No matter which topic we started with, heated discussions always came down to 'Professionalism'!

Professionalism is truly a powerful quality. It allows you to fulfil your role to the best of your ability. It helps you to impress and inspire others. And it gives you a deep sense of satisfaction and self-worth.

"Professionalism is not the job you do, it's how you do the job!"

Professionalism contains 3 major components, and involves consistently achieving high standards, both visibly and "behind the scenes - whatever your role or profession, for example, the way you carry yourself, your attitude, your approaches to issues and problems, and the way you interact with others are combined to show your level of professionalism.

Many business people think of professionalism in terms of personal grooming, or the least they should do to maintain proper standards in business dealings, however, professionalism is a process of continuous improvement in business practices.

Being competent on the job only denotes a basic level of professionalism, knowing how to handle the business tasks you encounter, and going about them in an effective, efficient, and confident manner is the least professionalism expected in the workplace.

A higher level of professionalism is about creating and contributing to creating a flourishing workplace collectively, your actions are consistently related to the agenda, you communicate effectively to acknowledge those who have different goals and means.

And the highest level of professionalism tend to rest on self-responsibility, The most accomplished professionals demonstrate a sense of responsibility, to themselves, to the task and business, and to the community and society at large.

We are either contributing or consuming, make your choice, consciously.
